Phone interview

I'm applying ED and for some reason I got lost in the interview shuffle. I called them today asking what was up (since the Acknowledgement of App sheet said call after 3 weeks if they dont call you) and it turns out i had been reassigned. Thing is, the person I was reassigned to not only didn't know, but he can't interview me in person until Dec 26...too late. So, we're going to have a phone interview Friday, which sucks because I feel I come across as much more likable in person than on the phone, but oh well. Anyway, what type of questions should I expect? Thanks in advance.

Hi Funky, I feel badly that no one has responded. By now I hope you have discovered the thread in the Parent's Forum, "Interview Questions You Should Know About."

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

It went...okay. He didn't seem to be very experienced with interviews and the first question he asked me was the overly broad "Tell me about yourself." I wasnt really expecting that and I should have asked him "in regard to what?" but I didn't. As it went on, it started to flow better but I couldnt really tell what he thought about me. One good thing was that we had similar interests. I was kind of disappointed when he confirmed that a lot of kids there have little to no school spirit in regard to sports (he said only 2 or 3 hundred kids go to the football games?!), but I'll survive and there's always the Red Sox and Pats to root for.

Hi Funkyfood... wish I had seen the thread earlier. Very random thing - I'm an alum interviewer, and they didn't change my area affiliation when I moved (though they send everything to my new address) - so I got assigned to someone, but had to get out of that. My guess is that she got reassigned - but anyway, it's not just you that gets shuffled!

Glad to hear that you survived it. :) I'm sure that he realizes that it's a different situation and won't penalize you for it. Besides, the only way that it will hurt you is if he said really weird things about you - which probably didn't happen.
