I go an email from a pton alum saying that he wanted to have a chat with me on the phone. Now i kinda feel wierd having a phone interview- its kinda unfair cos u cannot really convey alot on the phone bcos ur body language does convey and coomunicate alot. How much could that person know on phone?????

Im freaking out...does anybody have any tips on how to handle a phone interview and how to cope with awkward utterances and wired silences???
any advice would be helpful...specially from those who already have had phone interviews!!!!

I got offered a phone interview myself back in Nov. (I'm deferred early candidate) and I declined saying I wanted a real interview instead and he was happy to oblige. It's just to save time, the questions are all the same, but I think it's just understood that a real interview is the best, however if time doesn't permit I don't see why you should be faulted.

but jac,was the interviewer from your city/town???
i mean mebbe the guy is from another area altogether....and i dont want to cause him any kind of trubble

I had my Princeton interview on Saturday. The interviewer called me from NYC though I m from India (Patna). I thoroughly enjoyed my P'ton interview :) It was very informal

I don't think I would question his request for a phone interview - that might be viewed as rude. I would graciously accept the invitation and make the most of it. There must be a good reason that he requested to speak on the phone and not in person. I'm guessing that you will do just fine and the conversation will go smoothly!

Interviews in general are fun. I understand that phone interviews might not be as fun as a face to face one, but the upside is that you can have your brag sheet out in front of you when you have the interview. :)

brag sheet aka resume???? lol hehe yea
hes calling me on my cell phone... on thursday- wish me best of luck!!!:P
any last minute tips and advice specially on awkward silences and utterances that you thought were totally gauche???
