photo packet

Ok I'm assuming everyone got the photo packet by now so I'll ask here...anyone know how we are supposed to send things in???

The actual sheet just says send them back in the return envelopes, which i have, but there are so many little inconsistensies that I'm very confused about..

for example, look on the sheet that says "ID Cards & Face Book Photo Request" and look at the bottom where it has the addresses for both places the photos go to...the MC's are different between the CUID Photo and the return envelope that says Kent Hall. Also, on the other envelope that has a return address already printed on it (the zip code is different from the mailing address on it btw even tho its the same building), that envelope is bigger, should the smaller one go inside the larger one??

I'm so confused but maybe I am looking too much into this....any help?

There are 2 places to which 1 photo should go - ID card and Facebook offices which are separate. Therefore the addresses of each office are different. So send both envelopes separately.

I haven't got my packet yet.. internationals really have to wait.. and i'd be really ****ed if I didn't get my card/facebook entry because someone decided to cut costs and go for USPS seamail or sth.

see normally i'd agree with that simple logic, it even crossed my mind, but it just doesnt make sense to put a return address on one and not the other

This is what it says on the letter on the orientation website:

CUID Photo:
204 Kent Hall, MC 2601
1150 Amsterdam Avenue
New York, NY 10027

Facebook/LionLink Photo:
The New Student Orientation Program
2920 Broadway
Room 515 Lerner Hall, MC 2601
New York, NY 10027

What do the actual return envelopes look like / What's printed on them? Any personal identification?

there are 2 envelopes

1 is slightly larger than the other and has
{2920 Broadway
{Room 515 Lerner Hall, MC 2601
{New York, NY 10027
printed on it for a sending address. it also has a return address printed in the top left corner of the envelope addressed to columbia (same address but for some odd reason a zip code of 10021 instead of 10027)

the other envelope is slightly smaller and has the other address printed on it. the font it is written in, however, is different. there is no return address or anything else printed on it

Shoddy quality control - must remember to feedback this issue with the student council. They probably already produced a huge stock of these defectives and don't want to reprint.

They should also streamline and centralize this because now I have to pay overseas postage twice, jeez.

w00t, got a response to my email to the NSOP director.....unfortunatly its all contradictory to the information I got yesterday from some intern on the phone.....

well, incase anyone else is wondering Cindy Horowitz says that the smaller envelope DOES go inside the larger one and that it should be RECIEVED BY(not postmarked by) the 31st (i assume internat'ls get a bit longer)

Edit: this info is unfortunate because i already sent the envelopes seperately and via regular post (as opposed to priority) ~_~

uhhh. haven't received this photo packet yet. how will i get it back?

neither have I but I sent out the photographs in separate envelopes to the addresses on the NSOP site yesterday. They should get there maybe end first week April. From what you guys have written it looks like there isn't much of a point to waiting for the package to arrive.

I think it's quite unfortunate if they expected to send something to internationals by USPS and get something back within 2 weeks. Shifting the postage burden to us.
