I think this will be cool to do for you CC members & new admits:

Do you have any requests of photos anywhere in UCSB? What part of UCSB do you want to see photographically? Wonder what food looks like, or how wide the bike roads are, or so forth?

Request your inquiry here, and I'll take photos of that desired location!

EDIT: PM me for the photo link (it's flickr.)

Note: We're on break right now. I cannot start shooting until the first week of April, when we come back.

Reason for this thing: I shoot too many sports for my job/hobby. I want a distraction from such subjects. (I'm a photographer at the Daily Nexus. I just got promoted; I'm starting my stint as Photo Editor in less than a week.)

Hopefully, these photographic documents will help you in whatever decision you make. . .

everything involving FT: the front of the dorm, the facility around the dorm, the interior of the dorm, the hallway inside FT, the room structures, the bathroom, the bike path outside of the dorm that leads to the main campus, the selection of food, a picture to show how students get their food, a picture of the lecture hall, a picture of the beach taken on its days with usual population, and whatever you can think of involving FT, oh and maybe DP when it’s daytime and no party going down. Thanks a bunch!

What I can guarantee:
[ul][]Portola (I still have a meal plan), and all about Portola.
[]Facility around dorm (laundry room, elevator, pool, FT’s own little gym, etc.)
[]Beach
[]DP on daylight
[]FT lounge & hallway
[]Beach (it’s usually empty unless weather that day is nice & toasty.)
[/ul]

What I cannot guarantee:
[ul][*]Interior of an FT room. . .unless, by chance, I pregame in a friend’s [of friend’s] room in FT one weekend night. . .[/ul]

I would love to see some pics of different dorm buildings and interiors, dining commons, party life, and maybe some pictures of the library, rec center, and study rooms too! Thanks!

Could you add main campus hangout spots to the checklist? If they’re candid with people in it that would be great, I want to get a good idea of the feel of the campus. Thanks so much!!

You don’t have to do this, Lemon, but I’m mostly concerned with the bad side of UCSB. Things I should be wary about, like graffiti, vandalism, bad bathrooms.

Reasons for this: I come from a school where people decide it funny to relieve themselves on the bathroom floor. The smell is absolutely horrible and the last thing I want to do is go to another school where this is the case.

Generally, how good is the treatment of the facilities and public places there?

Also, a legitimate shot of the Engineering building would definitely be a plus. Google images decided not to cooperate… >.>

All of your help around the UCSB CC forums is greatly appreciated, Lemon! I hope that I’ll be able to do the same once I have a year of living there under my belt.

EDIT: Oh, and one sort of Off-Topic question… How fast is the Wi-Fi in the dorms?

Very good. People are mature here (as we should–we’re full-grown adults after all.) The treatment of the facilities and public places are the least of my worries, in fact. . .

Duly noted. The engineering buildings, in fact, have its own food court (in case nobody knew.)
