Photography Class

I am interested in taking Intro To Photography
stu art 71a

Does anyone know about this class and could tell me a little more about what it consist of? Or any links with more information about photography at UCI./
I've only been able to find this

Also, would you recommend first years taking the course?

i took it in the spring. i would recommend you taking it because it was really fun for me, but some people might find it to be too much work. if you’re not a studio art major, it might be difficult to get into the class because it’s major-only, and classes are small (about 15 people because that’s how many enlargers are available). one downside is that the supplies are pretty expensive, plus there’s the $85 lab fee (not sure if they increased this). but i absolutely loved being in the darkroom and making my own stuff.

basically in the class, you are doing assignments that involve going out and taking pictures with a film camera, and you develop the film and prints. then there are critique days where everyone posts up their work and you talk about each set.

Do you do any dslr non film photography?

71a is strictly film
