Anyone have any ideas? It could be just photography, but if possible, somehow both photography and business combined. I was thinking I could email some well-known photographers but they wouldn't have any reason to need help (they probably already have plenty).

I also have some experience in graphic design (started freelance logotype and graphic design business; income is five figures) and I'm definitely interested in expanding my experience there was well.

I can do OC or NYC locations.

What are your thoughts? Have you guys done anything similar? Thanks! (:

My question is, if you have a graphic design business making 5 figures why do you need an internship?

On another note, I suggest finding (google is fine) local companies and just e-mailing all of them. You can never assume that a photography studio or business does not need help, they might be looking for a summer intern, you never know!
I did the same thing last summer and got some great feedback, one in-house internship and one freelance job (both paid), so even with the economy not doing so hot, people are still hiring, at least in my neighborhood!

I’m don’t want to do an internship for the money; I just want the experience of working in a large agency. Right now I’ve really only focused on logo design and I’ve only worked for small dotcoms and entrepreneurs with (relatively) low budgets, and while the pay is good, it gets old after awhile.

Nevertheless I’m applying to TASP this year, and decisions come out in April. If I get into TASP I will be attending the program no matter what. However, in all likelihood, rejection is the most probable outcome considering the competitive nature of the program. Do you think contacting agencies and companies for internships in April is OK if I start working in late June/July/Aug? Like, would it be enough of an advance notice?
