Hello everyone. This is my first post on here so forgive me if I'm being repititious. After being a miserable business major for a while and spending a year more than I wanted to taking general ed classes at my local community college, I found something I would really love to major in. I'm interested in photography and graphic/web design. I really have no idea about which schools are strong in these areas. I would like to stay in California, but will consider any school in a larger city. Any suggestions? Any and everything is much appreciated. Thanks!

Oops, I also wanted to ask if anyone had any information on the USC Art's program specifically. Thanks again. :)

How about Art Center College of Design and Otis?

Also, on the east coast, there is RIT,which is VERY strong in photography and has a very well ranked graphic design program. They also have a "new media program," which is a combination of graphic design, photography and digital design. In fact, RIT might be your best option. You will need a portfolio for both graphic design and new media design but NOT for photography.

MICA allows a lot of interdisciplanry programs as does Pratt Institute. You should check these out.

wow. this post is from 2006. I wonder if its still alive?

I actually am considering applying to Otis and Art Center (Pasadena).
