Photography Portfolio for Calarts?

This may be the wrong area to post this, but it seemed appropriate.
I'm a senior in high school right now and I want to apply to Calarts (a few others too, but mainly Calarts) for the photography program. I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on some photos I might choose for my portfolio. I'm very actively working on building a portfolio, so I will have many more to choose from in the future. Does my work seem decent as far as acceptance goes? What should I do to build a strong portfolio?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated, especially from Calarts students or anyone who knows someone at Calarts.

Oh, nearly all the images are from scanned darkroom prints, so the quality you see isn't nearly as good as the actual print.

Thanks

I think these are extremely strong images and the composition shows an advanced eye.
I don’t know anything about CalArts but your photographs would be interesting to anyone looking at portfolios.

I especially like the square format color images: Awning, Cycle, Projection and I’d Rather Be. I could imagine a whole show or book of this series.

I’d also like to see more of that chair in the different locations.

Good work!

a little more…
If you continue your work in this vein I do think you will have strong portfolio for CalArts. Pay a lot of attention to how you sequence the work when you finally show it. I think it would be stronger if you didn’t mix up the images randomly. If you can, get some feedback from them at a National Portfolio Day. They are one of the few art schools that allow you to tailor your portfolio to the major you are interested in. They like to see a variety of media if you have it and it as strong as your photographic work but if you don’t it won’t be a problem.

Thanks for the help! I’ll be sure to focus on the presentation/order of the work I eventually choose to put in my portfolio.
