Photos from Indoc

Well day 1 is here and I eagerly await photos of my Plebe. In the past, I had seen a page on the KP website that followed the Plebes through Indoc. I can no longer find it and am wondering if any of you have info on its whereabouts.

Last year the pictures were on the Parents page. The pictures will most likely start being posted tonight or tomorrow. Keep in mind that the pictures are being taken by upperclassmen who also have other work that they need to do. So patience helps. Last year they didn't always post pictures everyday.

If you go to the Home page there is a link called "About USMMA". If you click on it, it will take you to a page that has a link at the bottom of the list on the left hand side "Webcams". There are two webcams. One of the waterfront and one of Barney Square. The Barney Square cam is not good quality but you get an idea of what they are doing. Barney Square is where they line up and practice marching, etc.

Thanks for the info. I figured it would be a while before pics would show up but had hoped to get a glimpse of past Indocs. Until photos start to appear, I'll keep checking out the webcam. The webcams are great!

Looks as if the upperclassmen have disabled (froze) the Barney Sq. webcam @ 11:08 EST. Anybody now why?

I know they froze the webcam now, sho you don't know what's happening to your plebes! Here's a good article that will fill you in a little bit - http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-limer0706,0,4562372.story?coll=ny-linews-headlines

KPFootballDAD, cause the public doesn't need to see the signs the kids are holding up saying "HELP ME"? :D

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Truly, there is nothing fishy about it. Indoc is not for public viewing & they probably won't put the camera back up during this period. They might, I say might, during certain time frames but I would spend the efforts more on the photos that might be posted probably late this evening or early tomorrow. That "might" word is a hard thing I know.

No worries folks. The kids are in good hands. Today will be rough but they'll be ok. Trust in this. Know that your kid will be thinking of you tonight as you are them. Write every single day, all the fun thoughts & morale boosting you can muster from the homefront! Try not to use words like, "I miss you" to make it harder on them. Hang tough along with them!

ahhh, feels good to be a 2nd classmen...

I haven't been around in a while. I'm on an LMSR in Baltimore doing my internship with the Vane Brothers, good stuff...yaa

^^ LOL Man, I missed those devil horns. Yours happen to be longer & sharper than any Mid I know. :D

my daughter is going to be brokenhearted! I promise she could still see her sweety on the webcam!

Day 0 pictures

I can not believe it's been a year already! Write everyday get family and friends involved I gave out envelopes already addressed and asked people to send a note or letter. I know that it made a difference. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers! I am not sure who suffers the most plebes or parents during indoc. keep watching the photos (you have so many already!!!). Last year at parents weekend they had cd's for sale. Best to all!!!!

WYTL2009, you're awesome. New parents tip #1 - The numbers on their hands indicate the company assignments. :)

WYTL2009, I agree w/Jamzmom... great job!
You gave us a flavor of what happened between the kids entering Gym, and lining up outside for lunch.

And a special thanks since you got a photo of my son in the mix!

not going to lie, i'm envious of their indoc uniform, jungle boots are far more awesome than flippin go-fasters, and the pants actually make it look more legit. keep those chins up parents! this is the official start to being in the family!

After having my heart torn in half yesterday, I feel "better" having seen my son on the photos. Photographer "M.A." - you're awesome. And I think I know who you are.....THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep 'em coming please.

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/

Look for photo link under the headline "Plebes 'indoctrinated' in King Point".

I think the worst part is over for us parents now! I got home to Virginia last night, and the house is so quiet! When I walked in, my son's guitar was sitting on our dining room table {we had a family sing the night before we left for KP} and it about tore out my heart!

My boy is in 2nd Company (I'm sure he's bummed because no air conditioning), but from what I could figure out the building for 2nd is near the water so maybe there will be a bit of a breeze.

We were told that there were 117 kids waiting as alternates to see if there were any no-shows, but it appears from another message that all candidates reported yesterday.

Well, now I guess us "new" parents are now "official."

Was great to meet so many of you from this board! HUGS to everyone!

When IS Indoc officially over? The Parade is on the 20th - does that mark the end?

Yikes! No A/C for 2nd! I was unable to read the number on my Plebe's hand so unclear as to which Company he now belongs to. Any idea when or where on the website the Company list will be posted?

Thanks so much for the photos on Shutterfly. It really helped ease my worried mind.

The first day pictures from yesterday are up on the Parents Page!
