Many of the students who are considering SC will not have the opportunity to visit the campus. There are few photos on the SC website. Do any of you have the time and technical expertise to compile a public album on Photobucket or other free photo storage site? It could be set up with a moniker to protect your privacy. I have some wonderful photographs of the fountains and landscaped squares which I would enjoy sharing. Many of you may have great pictures taken on Parents' Weekend or during orientation to add.
These might prove helpful to prospective students and parents who could access the photos by a link here on CC. What are your thoughts? Is there already an existing set of photographs of the scenery and buildings around the campus which can be accessed by possible applicants?

I think if anyone makes and album or takes pictures, they should post it to
collegecampuses - Community Info

because theres no pictures of SC there yet. It's a really neat lj group

Not to be negative, but USC does not have a terribly attractive campus. It's very urban and rather small, nice enough, but the surrounding area is dicey. That being said, my daughter is a sophomore there and loves it and everything SoCal has to offer. If you are looking for a really scenic, picturesque campus then USC is not for you.

I've visited many campuses, and my own school (Redlands) had a gorgeous layout -- and honestly I find USC quite charming and picturesque. There are many beautiful buildings and areas -- such as United University Church, Bovard/Doheny, McCarthy Quad, the fountains, etc. Sure, something like the Cardinal Gardens dorm in and of itself isn't gorgeous (grin), but the "campus atmosphere" at USC helped sell it to my daughter. (She was turned off by a couple campuses she thought looked like "office parks," including UCSB and Chapman.) Different strokes and all! :)

I guess we all see things through different eyes, cdmn. I love the gothic look of some east coast colleges, but I think USC's campus is also beautiful. I love the lush plantings of flowers and trees, the manicured green quads and brickwork and the buildings are impressive. I love the sunshine and the happy students walking and riding their beach cruisers to class on wide paths. I agree--this clean and lovely campus is confined within the campus walls, but I think it looks great. As for small, I believe an energetic person could walk across campus in about fifteen minutes, but to me that makes it walkable, not too small to me. Again, everyone needs to see a campus for themselves to decide. Or look at plenty of pictures in all seasons.

My daughter said one of the library is really beautiful inside. Doheny Library?

Could be Philosophy Library:

Doheny is beautiful, too.

A lot of commercials and several films have been made in the Hoose Philosophy Library. It is very beautiful. External shots of Doheny are also frequently used. "The Graduate" was filmed almost exclusively on the 'SC campus.

USC's campus is also the most used college campus in the U.S. for filming movies and TV shows. I think it's really unique compared to a lot of the other colleges I visited, and the new Cinematic Arts building is going to look fantastic!
