A few of the photos my daughter took on our leaf-peeping trip this past weekend. Looking forward to next year when the foliage should be prettier!

@MaineLonghorn - my first & second passes - in my attempt to not paint it “too precious” I think I lost the essence. I’ll try again (probably several tries) -

So important! There is a child in both photos in the same position with a different color coat on. Really important when choosing winter clothes.

Wow—that kid is really hard to spot in the lower photo! That would be my kids. Both favor dark colors!

The acoustics in that Disney Hall are unbelievable - I saw David Byrne there once. He stood on stage and whispered without a microphone, and the very back balcony row could hear. If you get a chance, take the free tour.

Frank was a neighbor of ours back in around 1980. He designed a home to look like a lifeguard tower in our beach neighborhood! Everyone thought he was nuts. He went on to design a building that looks like binoculars! And the wildness hasn’t stopped.

He’s a fascinating architect. I saw a documentary a few years ago when I was in the architecture industry. His process is most unique. He truly crumples paper and folds cardboard to inspire his work. The lifeguard tower house was a nod to the owner who had been…a lifeguard and it was on the beach. It’s still there, in Venice, California.

His work isn’t for everyone, but if you get it, it’s pretty great.

We had a tour that included the outside of Disney Hall. The guide said they had to matte the outside because the silver was just too blinding when the sun reflected off of it.

That really happened. It was this super shiny metal, you see yourself reflected in it. At sunset it would glare down the street. Super dangerous.

@momofboiler1 , just gorgeous photos. Where is this?
