He won’t stop looking at me and judging!
In the world of photography, what does the word “cropping” mean ?
I am not familiar with cropping but in terms of this seagull crapping was a verb of choice😀
Thank you, feel free to pm me if you’d like to discuss anything photography related.
Cropping is where you edit a photo to cut out anything you don’t want in the photo (super crude explanation, lol). So say you had a picture with your two children but also had a neighbor and their dog in the photo. If you wanted just your kids, you would crop it to remove the neighbor and their dog.
Love the butterfly and hummingbird photos! I hope they are on display in your homes…I want copies for mine!!
We are driving back from OH to MD after dropping our freshman off at college. Most of the trip is through rural parts of OH, PA, WV and western MD crossing the Appalachian mountains. There are some serious thunderstorms with spectacular nonstop lightning. I could not capture any lightning bolts on my cellphone but thought these pictures of the cloudy night sky are pretty cool.
Thank you for answering my question.
(It was intended to be humorous referring to the picture above my post.)
Totally missed that! Though I did wonder how someone wouldn’t know what that was…
These bird pictures are amazing!!
Off our balcony last night.
I am not a, “real,” photographer. Just aim and shoot with my iPhone. But, I never edit my sunset photos. It always makes me mad when the local weather guys post photos on Facebook that have been submitted by viewers which have clearly been highly saturated and edited.
These are spectacular - I’m a relatively new watercolor artist - @TiggerDad would you be ok with me trying my hand at painting them? I won’t be selling them, they would just be for me, to have reference.
Sure, would love to see your work when finished.
Definitely. Thank you!
I don’t edit my sunset photos either, but they rarely look anything like what I see with my eyes. And I can already pre-edit somewhat depending on whether the camera decides on whether to focus on the land/sea or the sky.
I sometimes edit my sunset pictures if the color or intensity doesn’t reflect reality. My goal is to approach what my eyes saw. I certainly will crop them as necessary!
Couple of my favorites. I like the second because it’s either a very small helicopter or a very large seagull.
Great shots!
I don’t have issues with subtle changes or exposure changes or whatever. I’ll re-post the photo I shared above but edited like so many are submitted to local weather folks on FB. Then they get posted and people, “ooooh,” and “ahhhhh,” and it’s just so fake that it annoys me for some reason. Lol.
@TiggerDad - I use photos for inspiration not to create exact paintings - I did a quick hummingbird using yours as inspiration - it’s small about 4x4 -
