Another dog pic!
I saw something similar along the side of the road - on queen Anne’s lace flower skeletons. I called them ghost flowers because they were only visible when the sun hit them just right. And then they were spectacular!
We made it to the top of the Washington monuments. They only release 20-25 tickets every 30 minutes from 9:30-4:00 the day before, and they sell out in seconds. But I was ready to go right at 10. I haven’t been up since I was a kid. And my kids hadn’t been even though we’ve been here dozens of times. It was beautiful.
And it was also on my bucket list for 2021! Check!
You’re on the wrong “news” channel.
Boy, the Ellipse looks rough, doesn’t it!
Great perspective, mountainsoul! Cool shot!
Thank you!
Thanks for the great photos. Glad you got to top of Washington Monument.
The first time we went to DC our little guy was 4 years old and was very excited to visit. Alas, I did not know about getting tickets ahead of time. The kind guards did let us peek into the first floor. About 6 years later we visited again, and each of the four of us got to pick a “must see” site. Son wanted Washington Monument, and I learned how (at the time) to spend 50 cents to reserve a time slot.
If those are aspens, here is their cottonwood cousin along the rio grande valley in NM. Lucky to have this old guy in my backyard.
Memories of our cat enjoying the fall leaves in our old home in Chicagoland.
I admit I do not miss raking the leaves! I do miss our sweet girl.
I am from Kingston/Poughkeepsie NY … miss the Hudson River.
Our son does NOT miss the Hudson River.
We waved at West Point on our way to this view! (Stone Mountain State Park for those who know the area.)
Lucky indeed. I grew up in NM and miss fall walks in the bosque.
