A friend of H’s buys and restores old houses around town. He had a Xmas party in one of our famous ones. He says it was condemned when he bought it. It still needs a fair amount of work, but wow it is gorgeous. And since I wasn’t comfortable going to a covid Xmas party, he let us come over beforehand and tour. I’m very glad he did. My pics don’t do it justice. And while I love my house, when I see these ones, I figure we were the poor folk 100 years ago
Poinsettias at the Balboa Park Botanical Building. It’s open slat roof and sides and had rained recently.
We had our first major snowfall of the year- 18 inches in less than 12 hours. Of course it’s Nutcracker weekend, so it was not fun driving in it.
Love the tree!
The roads did not look fun to drive!
Great photos. Thank you.
Love your snow pictures, especially the first one. I know it’s not fun driving, but the light is so beautiful!
Incredible photo !
milgymfam - such cool photos! Love the ballet slipper Christmas tree - so unique!
Amazing beach Santa, Hoggirl!!
To everyone who made me buy the $8 Trader Joe amaryllis- THANK YOU!! Six blooms now.
Not white blooms like the tag shows, but a great looking variety. I think from my research that it’s called Minerva.
Looks like Minerva to me. Very pretty. You lucked out!
Thanks for the photos. I mailed two of these to family with “open now” paper bags inside their UPS holiday boxes. Hoping they do Ok.
One of the first pics in my iPhone album… taken with iPhone 5 (?) at the US Botanical Garden in DC in 2013! We walked in, and as soon as I saw the amaryllises, I thought I died and went to heaven.
Cute!!
Fun photos! Reminds me of the towels folded into animal shapes on a cruise. Are they from hotel stays?
No, I did them!! I needed some distraction a couple of weeks ago while waiting for ds’s grad school decision. Stumbled upon, “toilet paper origami.”
There are a few videos on YouTube and actually a couple of books about it!
Not sure how impresed our 20-something ds will be when he arrives tomorrow - lol
I love it and I just may steal your idea in 2022. New things to do and learn
Turbulent skies over the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. This snow squall blasted us with a wintry rain/snow mix and peak wind gusts of 107 mph.
Rezzi went to his new home on Thursday. Someone is happy for Christmas
Here’s the last pic we took of him before he loaded perfectly on the trailer. Our DIL is holding him and it’s not a great “pony profile” pic, but it captures him and how personable he is. He should do well with his new owner.
