Pictures from Mammoth spring skiing (not really, very cold!) in the Eastern Sierra week before last. For those that don’t know the area Yosemite is on the other side. More than 700 inches of snow this season at main lodge (over 8,000 feet) and 800 inches at the top ( over 11,000 feet). Headed back up at the end of next week, but temperatures have warmed to the 40’s in the day so it will be real spring skiing. Last picture is where we eat lunch and you normally walk up to get to the deck!
That phenomenon is called a halo. Beautiful pic!
It finally stopped raining in my city…
hahah, definitely a one-and-done experience!

Spent the weekend closing out the ski season with some great spring skiing at Mammoth in the Eastern Sierra. D2 tagged along and we enjoyed beautiful weather. We never tire of the view of the Minarets. We missed the Northern lights which were visible last night at Mammoth due to a geomagnetic storm. Unfortunately we were driving home.
For those near Northeast OH IRL or while traveling, we located this small gem on Saturday. It’s Thompson Ledges Township Park. I’ll add a few of our photos and there are more on the website I’m linking, along with more info about the park if anyone is curious.
Loved this tight(ish) squeeze!
I wonder if this is part/adjacent to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park .
Reminds me of Hocking Hills (Southeastern Ohio)
NE of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. There are a series of these “ledges” type parks all over Ohio!
Yes, I saw the name and knew the round about location but didn’t know for sure how close to “Cuyahoga”.
