What's the difference between these two? Besides the fact that one uses calc and the other doesn't, of course.

Which one is easier? Also, which one should I take if I'm premed?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

The standard path is to take 2053 for premed. Comparing my coursework with the 2053 coursework, I find that it’s about the same difficulty. The calc is the only real difference (And the fact that in 2048 you’ll be with mostly engineers).

take 2053. First off, the practical difference (in terms of what you need to know for MCAT) between the two is just about zero. Second off, 2053 will be curved in your favor if everyone does poorly (happens sometimes). 2048 has strict cut offs.

Easier is a relative term for comparing these two. if you have a calc background 2048 might be easier. i personally find 2053 easier. some say you should take 2048 because taking physics without calc isnt real but those people are ridiculous… i mean this is just classical physics. Both will require fluency with some formula or another when it comes down to it.
