<p>I've heard that phys 8a discussion is not mandatory and that labs aren't held every week. Is this true or does it depend on the professor? The way my schedule works right now, I would have 6 straight hours of class on Wed (espm 50ac lec, phys 8a dis and bio1a lab) and I was wondering if I would be able to skip discussion occasionally if I needed the extra time. Is there homework due in phys discussion every week? How long does it take to do bio lab write-ups? My alternative would be to try and switch to a Fri bio1a lab, which would likely spread out my homework/studying a bit more, but I'm not too fond of having a Fri evening lab. Any comments/suggestions?</p>
<p>This is true, and does not depend on the professor (at least that’s how it was when I took the course). No homework due in discussion. Homework is via Mastering Physics, an online program that you submit every week. Physics labs are due one week after the lab period. Bio 1AL labs are usually due at the end of the lab period, and if not, they usually don’t take much time outside of lab to finish. It’s preparing for the lab and the lab quizzes that take a long time.</p>
