Hey guys. I'm currently taking AP Physics B and I have an A in the class. However, as far as the AP test, I would need a 5 to get credit. However, I can get the same credit with a 4 or 5 on Physics C Mechanics. My Physics B teacher is really good but I'm wondering how hard it is to get a 5 on Physics B versus a 4 or 5 on Physics C Mechanics. I'm also self studying Calculus BC while in AB so my calculus is pretty good.

So which would be the better option? I don't want to risk not getting credit. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I’ve taken the Physics B AP exam and it’s not too hard to get a 5, it’s quite a broad topic.

I do not recommend taking the Physics C AP if you’re only in Physics B. A whole semester vs a month or two of mechanics is MUCH more in-depth. Simply knowing calculus does not help as there are some things that are only scratched upon and some that aren’t even covered in Physics B

By all means, take it if you have the extra money. But I wouldn’t expect anything past a 3
