phys ed

does pton have a phys ed and/or swimming requirement?

Nope! Yay! But most people participate in athletics anyways. Go tennis! makes backhand motion

Are you planning on playing tennis at P-ton? I didn't know you were athletically inclined, Phil - you're obviously the perfect applicant. ;) We'd hate you, but we love you too much!

Haha, no...tennis was in no part of my application. But I do want to play in college. Probably just intramurally, but maybe as a club sport if I have the time...

And don't hate! Because hating me could be bad come April if/when you get in, Tamera :)

Tamera? Je suis confondu...

There's no hating going on around here, none at all.... As I said, I ♥ you too much for that. :)

gasps You didn't see my note likening you and kat2 to Tia and Tamera from Sister, Sister. for shame...hehe

No physed requirement at all.

Pton offers a variety of PE classes, all about 50 dollars or so a semester from riflery to capoeira to various forms of yoga and all sorts of swimming levels.

How is Dillion gym? Is membership free? Are aerobics classes offered to all students, or is that a phys. ed class you have to pay for?

You can use the gym all you want as long as you show an ID, but actual classes cost a nominal amount of money and require registration at the beginning of the semester.

relative to what other schools have (yale, duke, penn, etc...) dillon gym is a complete embarrassment for a university of our size and endowment

serious plans are in the works to renovate lots of it

that being said it definitely meets my needs at least, and again, I wouldnt choose a college based on its recreational athletic facilities
