I have been way too sedentary this year (haven't really done any IMs because I get kind of embarrassed doing coed sports), so I'm thinking of trying to get in a physedu class.

Any recommendations? Does anyone know anything about Physical Fitness for Women? The course description was a bit unclear. Do they have to swim (I am a very weak swimmer)? Do they have to do bench presses or anything like that? I'm not supposed lift anything that's really heavy (smaller weights are fine) due to a very minor heart issue.

blahfishcakes - my D is currently taking a class for women only - weight training which is on East Campus. She also took a kickboxing class which she loved. All the classes she has taken have been for women only.

If you do take weight training and have physical limitations you should check with the instructor to let them know first. There are other options that might be better like yoga, social dance, etc. If you have time visit the location where the classes you are interested are held and see if you can talk to students taking the class to see what they think.

Click on the course you are interested in. To the very right is a clickable link labeled Synopsis which has more information about what the class involves. So, you can check to see if swimming is included.

FYI - just make certain you have enough time after any PE class to shower and change. If you don't, you'll feel grimy the rest of the day. And if your class is on East Campus allow time to get back to West for your class.
