Physic to PhD Econ

Hello guys,

I am going to college soon, first I planned to major in economic but after doing further research on grad school and PhD programs. I saw that physic fit in really well and being someone who never had physic class during high school. I really want to try it ( a little more than economic ) as I am confident with my mathematical abilities and understanding of the concepts.

My plan is to spend my electives or class that I can to fit as much Economic classes as possible while doing some research here and there.

What do you guys think of this plan/idea?

If you are asking if a physics major can be a good preparation for a PhD program in econ, the answer is yes. College is a good time to explore your interests, and it may be too early for you to already be planning on getting a PhD in a particular subject (or any subject).

It sounds like you were interested in economics, but now you want to study physics and maybe take some classes or minor in economics. If that’s what you’re asking, then that sounds great if that’s what you’re interested in!
