Is Georgia Tech improving in the pure/natural sciences (chemistry, physics, math, etc.)? It seems like in the last NRC rankings, as well as the USNWR grad program rankings, GT's natural science programs were quite weak compared to other large public schools like Michigan, Illinois, UCLA, Texas, Wisconsin, etc. I've always found it interesting since GaTech is perceived as a tech school, yet is relatively weak in the natural sciences compared to the applied. Especially since science/tech is supposed to be the focus.

I would also like to know the answer to this question.

yeah for example i noticed that gt doesn't offer a general math degree. only applied math.
