Physical Therapy Grad Programs

How competitive are these programs, really? What kink of stats do you need to be competitive (gpa/gre's/etc.)?

I'm trying to determine the real advantage of being accepted as a freshman into a DPT program verses going the undergraduate 4 years then applying to grad program. (Intense 6 years guaranteed vs. 4 years then GREs + applications + 3 more years)

i am also interested in PT Grad programs

Some stats for U of Minn are here:

<a href="http://www.grad.umn.edu/data/stats/ad/1067200.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.grad.umn.edu/data/stats/ad/1067200.html</a></p>

Doesn't look too extreme in terms of GRE. Last year they admitted 46 of 107 applicants and 38 matriculated. So at least for Minnesota, it doesn't look extremely competitive.

I'm personally a big believer in doing a "normal" undergrad program and then going on to grad school if you still want to. A lot of us were pretty sick of school after the first 4 years so 6 would have been a killer. And of course, in 4 years you'll know a lot more about what you want out of life!

Good Luck!
