I want to do physical therapy and i'm trying to figure out the tuition situation if i get in. I'd be doing the six year program, and i think doing two coops from what i've read on the website.. so would i be paying six years of the tuition price or would it be less because of the coops..or more because of being there throughout summers..?

I know this is old, but please bump because I am really confused about this now.

You only pay tuition when Northeastern is educating you.

So, for the students who are doing the tradition 5 yr w/co-op program, they’re still only paying for 4 years worth of education.

Sorry I don’t have a PT related answer. And someone can correct me if I’m not clear :)

Adding to blinkangel’s answer – you don’t have to pay anything when you are not in class (except housing, health insurance, etc, if you are living on campus and using NU health insurance). You’ll also often get paid on coop. In the past, I’ve paid my rent, food, and all expenses while I was on coop, which saved my parents a lot of money. If ou aren’t doing that, you should be able to save something for tuition payments.

Thanks blink and eireann! You helped to answer my questions about co-ops, but what about the summer sessions when I have classes? What is the tuition [is it per credit hour or for the summer part I or part II?]

teamfrangela92,

The link i posted below is a sample schedule of the 6 year physical therapy program. It looks like you do two coops, research, and three different clinical education programs at 3 different sites. No clue as to whether you get paid at the clinical sites but something you can call Bouve for. I’m pretty sure summer courses are cheaper than fall and spring.

Thanks NEastern, I’ve seen that chart many times =]. I am hoping that the summer classes are cheaper. But, this program does save you money because you complete in 5 1/2 years over the usual 7 with physical therapy school. I will be visiting in about two weeks =]
