I am interested in physical therapy programs, and I have been looking into the combined degree programs of Ithaca and FDU. Any knowledge of these programs? Are they highly competitive, and what are the chances of getting in?

Any other reccomendations for schools for physical therapy?

I have no knowledge of the programs you mentioned.

Surprisingly, in our area the best programs are regional schools that most on this board would not consider “good” schools. You may want to seek out an internship locally and get opinions from those in the field.

My area go to schools are: U of Delaware, Arcadia (Glenside PA), Stockton State for NJ residents, Temple for PA residents.

A co-worker’s son is applying this year. He focused on # of years of the program (some are 6 others 7) and the internship opportunities of each school.

Check out Sacred Heart and University of Scranton as well.

FDU’s program is 6 years (3 at Fairleigh Dickinson/3 at UMDNJ) and Ithaca’s is 6 also. They are B.S/DPT programs.

Seton Hall University has a combined biology BS/physical therapy masters program

is the masters program as good as a doctorate program?

if you do not know the answer to that, then forget about it.

It does not take much computer skills to look up PT.

PT is only a doctorate prograom in the US.

So if you find a Masters program, go for it.

Ive also looked at Penn State Abington/ Thomas Jefferson. Anyone have any knowledge of that program?

Are you interested in a West Coast school? I know Chapman University has an excellent physical therapy program. [Chapman University - Physical Therapy - Home II](<a href=“Page Not Found | Chapman University”>Page Not Found | Chapman University)

No Im mainly interested in East Coast,

St. Louis University and Marquette University offer direct therapy programs.

Im mostly looking into tri-state, northeast schools

any more knowledge?

I suggest looking at the US News ratings for PT. I am not a huge fan that ratings are the best method to evaluate a school, but I do find it a very helpful start point. From my limited knoweldge on PT, internship opportunities are very important.

I’ve been looking at northeastern, it seems to have a high rating. any thoughts?
