physical therapy

are there lots of cons to becoming a physical therapist? like the classes.

im in 11th grade and i really need to start figuring out what i want to do and being a PT sounds like its for me but im not sure about anything regarding the college aspect of it(i.e.-classes and such)

First, it's great that you have an idea of what you might want to do for a career. Second, it's OK that you're not sure about it! Just be sure that the college you pick has strong programs in other areas as well, so you'll be able to experiment with other career choices if you find that the PT classes aren't for you. Many people go into college with one career aspiration; most of those people change majors multiple times anyway.

Make sure you understand the criteria of becoming a PT - which is now a PhD at most schools - 6-7 years total (there are still some Masters programs out there - but they are quickly becoming the minority) - it is very competitive to get into the grad school piece - and just about any major will be considered as long as you have taken the necessary requirements undergrad.

Con wise - they make a pretty good pay check for the most part - and there are lots of different opportunities out there.

See if there is an opportunity to speak with a PT - ask about shadowing a PT.
Maybe volunteer?
