Physician Assistant

Out of curiosity, I was wondering what are your thoughts on becoming a physician assistant because that's what I want to do.

it is a good choice, lot’s of work in school but why not?
go for it!

You could ask your physician if she knows of any Pas, contact them, and see if they would let you follow them around for a few hours. Patient privacy issues would be one concern, in this case, that you’d have to address, but my physician (he hasn’t a PA that I’ve met) has allowed shadowing (by rising freshmen pre-meds) in his practice and with the permission of the patient. I assume you’ve already researched what Pas do, what their licensing permits, what the practice issues are, what the future of Pas is in healthcare reform, etc. It’s a very competitive u/g field, so ascertain it’s what you want to do before committing your money to it. Good luck.
