physics 1 or 2 series for pre-med?

Hey,
So I'm on the Pre-Med track (currently majoring in Managmt Sci..but might change to Psych), and was wondering if you could help me choose between Physics 1 or 2 series for the Med Requirement. I know 1 series is algebra based, and 2 series is calc based. So..1 series would definitely boost my GPA. But I heard that some schools require calc based physics. Which series would you recommend to me to be more prepped for the MCAT and Med School? I'm planning on taking a physics course during summer session 1 (in a week), so your input would be really helpful.

Also, do you know if it will affect my fin. aid if i change to the 2 series? cuz i'm enrolled in 9 units right now, but if i change to 2 series, i'll only be enrolled in 8 units.

Thank you for your help!

The 1 series is easier, you need a high GPA for medical school, and the 1 series prepares you adequately for the MCAT. It’s a no-brainer if you ask me…

1 series, the 2 series is only really for people that actually plan on being physicists, as far as I know. You need the GPA boost more than you need the extra work.

1 series was a joke… everyone in that class made me THAT much more confident about Medical school since those pre-meds in that class are pretty naive.

actually the 2 series is for science (non-biology) and engineering majors. the 4 series is for physics majors and masochists.

I think the only school that requires calc-based physics is a specialized program within Harvard Med School and possibly MD/PhD programs. The physics required on the MCAT is 1 series level.

Short answer: Take 1 series unless you absolutely love physics.
