i was wondering if anyone had a syllabus from physics 140.

i have a huge scheduling conflict; i have a class i need to take TTh, from 8:30-11:30 AM and all of the physics lectures overlap. is it necessary to go to class? i am not worried about knowing the material through lecture but attendance procedures, quizdoms and such.

i can't take physics over the summer and CBE is no longer offered. i would like to avoid pushing back this class as much as possible.

i was considering that... although, i have another lecture that is required, MW from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM, with discussion on tuesday from either 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 12:30 - 1:30 PM. i don't think i would be able to miss discussion.

Don't take 160. You have a 3-hour class twice a week?

I don't know what to think about Physics 140...I thought that I had really struggled with everything, yet I ended up with an A- in the class. I did go to class every day, but I am betting that I really didn't pay attention very much.

Quizdom's for 140 are every single day. I will say that some kids in the class had multiple quizdoms...

Why not take 160? Is it really hard? I was planning on taking it.

Take it. I took 160 and 240, so I feel like I know both the honors and non honors side. Honors is just easier. The _40 class is basically 2 huge lectures a week and 2 discussions. Neither seemed too useful to me; on top of that you have to deal with the fairly idiotic "Mastering Physics" and Quizdom systems.

In Honors, you just have the one professor teaching you 4 hours a week. The material is not any harder, just a slight bit more of it to cover. The tests are easier and less retarded. The curve and grading are far, far more generous.
