Has anyone taken either? I'm pretty good with mechanics and doing well in 112 right now, but I don't think I'm as comfortable with heat/E&M. Will 213 as a class be harder than 112? I think I'm up for a challenge, but I've heard some pretty bad stories about 116, so I'm apprehensive about jumping into 217 from non-honors. Also, I've noticed that 217 curves higher than 213, do you think a lower-mid A student in regular could at least make the mean in 217?

Also right now I'm not completely sure which engineering I want to do. Most likely Mech or ECE, but haven't ruled out AEP, even though I probably won't end up doing it.

I heard 213 is generally 10x harder than 112.

yea I have seen the first practice prelim they gave you guys, it's nothing compared to 213's difficulty. I naturally felt E/M is much more complicated than mechanics. And unless you have Wayy too much time on your hand, like 8 hrs a week, or you are crazy about physics, don't take it. Heard the mean for 116 first prelim is 60%, and that's coming from the physics and AEP majors. This percentage could be deceiving though, as my friend in Chem 215 could not believe how the average for his prelim could be so low as a 60%. Also you are not required to take honors even if you are majoring in AEP, so why bother..? I read Penn's honors phy's midterm, and that was hellishly hard. It was not that far from IPhO's level I think.
