Physics 231C

I was just wondering if anyone has taken this class (or 232C) and could let me know how it is. It's with Professor Hallstein, so if anyone has had him as well any info would be awesome! Thanks.

Yup I took it. Hallstein’s been teaching for years and the course is really well run and he’s quite helpful. You must take initiative to actually learn on your own and do all the book stuff as roughly 30% of his exam questions come from book problems.
On the help sheet, I recommend copying problems that you had trouble with step-by-step. His exams almost always are reworked problems from the hw or book.

I’d recommend taking it but not as your first online class.

Would you say it’s a reasonable A? That’ll be my only class over the summer, but I’ll still have a full-time job/other volunteer commitments.

I got a 3.5 in it but I was simultaneously going to school full time, working full time, and had an internship. It is definitely reasonable but like I said, you need to put in the effort. It was by far my hardest and most time consuming online class.

What is a 3.5 equal to in terms of letter scoring at MSU? I go to a different school right now that I won’t mention on this forum… haha

I guess a B+/A-.
