Physics 2801-2802

How hard is it compared to the Physics course most other freshmen take? I was just wondering because I received an email invitation to sign up for the course. Since I plan on doing pre-med, GPA matters a lot to me.

I'm not sure how it is now, but back when I was there, it was a disaster. I was in it for a day and realized that I was going to get slaughtered. My friends who took it -- who all got 5/5 on AP Physics C -- would spend hours and hours on problem sets that were nearly impossible. And their grades were very low in the end.

If you're really good at physics AND love physics, I'd consider it. It's a much more intellectual pursuit than the normal physics course. At worst, you could try the course for a couple weeks and then switch down to regular physics (which MANY people did).

You have friends?????????

Who are they we'd love to know.

They're people who took Physics 2801-2 (i.e., physics dorks). You probably wouldn't love to know them.

if you are a premed DO NOT take 2801 unless you can do physics in your sleep. You would just be shooting yourself in the foot otherwise and med schools won't know the difference between that class and a lower one (for the most part).

thanks for the help
