Physics 3, 4, 13, 14; Placement Test

Hi, I'm an incoming freshman. I'm thinking of taking the placement tests for the courses above. Does anyone have a comprehensive syllabi of the courses? The Physics Department website has only a short description of each course. Thanks.

Bump. Need some help here.

Hey Grain, as a premed I can give you a bit of info on these classes, but haven't actually taken them yet. 3 and 4 are more basic physics--they'll count on med school applications, but the downside is that the profs tend to be awful. Having a friend knowledgeable in physics might help a lot if you take these two. 13 and 14 are, I believe, more for the engineering type, and are definitely more challenging. The profs are decent, though not outstanding.

I'll probably take 3 and 4, since I do have such an aforementioned friend.

there's no need to take the tests for both 3 and 4 and 13 and 14. In fact, i think there are only tests offered for 13 and 14.

In any case, no, I don't have any materials from the courses (i took 15 and 16) but if you took the AP Physics C exam then you should be fine. Basic Mechanics will be fine, as will pretty basic E&M stuff.

theyre all the same test
