i was wondering if the discussion sections for physics 6a are mandatory.. meaning will there be assignments due or attendance taken?

The discussion overlaps with 15 minutes of another class so I'll miss the last 20 minutes of discussion every week for physics 6a. I wouldn't mind going to another section/ office hours if I need help, but if there are assignments due/attendance taken I can't really do that.

Nope, 6A discussion are not mandatory. I didn’t think they were helpful at all, since it was mostly going over hw problems… most of which everyone already has the answer to.

Do you think it matters who your professor is for 6A? or not so much? A lot of my friends suggested taking it with Bruinsma (rather than Coroniti) who has much better reviews, etc… But that won’t work for me.

I’m pretty good at physics; ended up with a 5 in AP physics B. Would the teacher really make that much of a difference? Should I wait to take it with a better teacher?

coroniti has terrible reviews. just because you got a 5 doesnt mean anything…you would be surprised how much calculus a professor can bust out in the 6 series. find out more about coroniti if you must take him.

frkn bruinsma and rosenzweig got filled up so fast. im just sitting on my desktop rereshing the page so that in case someone drops i can add really quickly ;]

i know! im a freshman and i cant start registering until August during my Orientation. Do you guys think that they might open some spots up for Freshmen in the Physics 6A classes?

ok thanks for the help. I actually already completed all the GE courses from Community College courses taken during high school. So I’m thinking about just taking Life Sciences or something of that sort.
