<p>My major is engineering math and stats.
I enrolled in physics 7b and found out later that the pre-requisites for it were physics 7A and Math 53. Given that I am not 100 percent sure that I got a 5 on the ap physics c exam I took in May that would exempt me from physics 7A, would getting a 4 force me to drop Physics 7b? I've already satisfied Math 53 by taking a corresponding course at a community college during my senior year in high school.</p>
<p>What they told us at the advising is that you should sign up for the one you anticipate you’ll be taking (7B) then drop down to 7A if you do get a 5. That is unless 7B is fairly open and 7A is almost full, then you might want to do 7A, and if you get a 5 switch to 7B.</p>
<p>I don’t think you should take 7B without getting the 5, because although you will be able to enroll in the class, you won’t fulfill you’re major’s requirements, and it would be annoying to take 7B then 7A (imo).</p>
<p>It’s not just whether you got a 5 or 4 in your AP exam. (actually, if you do get a 4, you will have to take 7A sooner or later) I will tell you that Berkeley’s approach to physics is a lot different from AP. If you are really confident with your physics background, I would suggest you take the H7A. Believe me, you won’t regret taking 7A/H7A in Berkeley. </p>
<p>Anyway, I think all 7B classes are filled up.</p>
