I took Physics my freshman year, didn’t care that much, teacher wasn’t too great, and pulled a B+. Now, that same course i took as a freshman is being offered as an AP course. I’ve gotten interested in Physics independently, and have been reading different books and watching documentaries about physics (albeit, the mind-blowing astro-stuff and not kinematics). My question is, should I take it again, because i know it would interest me, plus i’d get the AP credit, or would colleges frown upon taking the same course twice?
Many students take either regular science or honors science before taking that science course in an AP setting. There is nothing wrong with that.
You like it, you can get an AP credit, so go for it.
Why not? That’s what I’m doing with Chem, taking regular then AP the following year. You’ll be better off since you have learned the basics of physics
Maybe you will have better luck than me. I jump into AP phys 1 with no prior experience on physics but a relatively strong background on math and I still get f*** over hard. I spent 2+ hours per night studying and still getting grades like C and C-.
With prior experience, Physics 1, 2, or B (I’ve lost track of how they name it) should be fairly straightforward. It’s the back end of Physics C Mechanics and Physics C Electricity and Magnetism that trip people up.
