Physics and Engineering

I have recently been admitted to UCSD and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for my intended major of electrical engineering. Unfortunately, the school I want to go to most, UCSB, has not admitted me for my major, and instead, put me in the College of Letters and Science. In that college, I have the option to major in physics, and I was wondering if choosing this would inhibit my chances for majoring in some type of engineering in Grad School? I would like to have a career involved with music/sound equipment. I have also been admitted into the Honors program at UCSB, which allows me to get priority pick for my classes, increased contact with faculty and peers, special research opportunities, etc. which might help me get access to some undergrad engineering classes and develop connections to professors that can help me land a job or guide me through graduate school.
Thanks.

Cal Poly Slo eats UCSB at engineering for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Haha. I know Slo has a great engineering program, but unfortunately it’s geared more towards finding work right after undergrad, as opposed to graduate school.

Why not go to UCSD then? (1) It has a better reputation than UCSB (2) you got accepted into the major you want (3) and it’s more geared toward grad school than Poly.

Yes, that does seem like the logical solution, but on my visit there, I didn’t like the feel of the area. The campus is very city-like, yet the surrounding area, La Jolla, is very dead. I’ve also spoken to students who go there, and they have said at times it can be boring. I plan on visiting once more, but I don’t expect to have any change in thoughts.
