Physics at De Anza

I'm a an upcoming high school senior who will be taking Physics at De Anza in the fall, winter, and spring quarters. I am interested in majoring in either Chemical Engineering. I've checked assist.org, and it says that the lower engineering prereqs consist of the Physics 4 series.

I might take the Physics 2 series, since I haven't completed Calculus 1A yet, but I was wondering if colleges like UC Berkeley or UCLA would accept Physics 2A, 2B, and 2C for credit for the Chemical Engineering prereqs. If I took the Physics 2 series next year, would I still have to take the equivalent of the physics 4 series at any UC?

I am asking this because I don't want to start over in physics in a UC, since I'll be taking physics at De Anza anyways. On the other hand, would I be better off finishing at least Physics 4A and 4B in my high school senior year after fulfilling the Calculus 1A requirement?

Thanks!

You won’t be able to take 4A until you have done cal 1a and have concurrent enrollment in cal 1b.

See what assist.org says for each school, 2A is mostly for bio majors not engineering.

for engineering you HAVE to take the calculus based physics classes
