Physics at Mills?

I've been searching high and low on the Internet but I haven't found any information about possible physics majors at Mills? There is a cross registration program for places that do have physics like Berkeley, but you can only do one course/semester and I don't think that'd be enough.

Mills has a “design your own major option” I inquired about it during an interview and the admissions counselor I spoke with mentioned that the committee which reviews the proposed “design your own majors” is notorious for shooting down propositions. I wish I could give you an answer on physics in particular, I think your best bet might be to contact a professor via email. I have contact many professors in the humanities department and they have been totally helpful.

Mills has a physics MINOR (see course requirements here: [Mills College - Physics, degree requirements](http://www.mills.edu/academics/undergraduate/phys/degree_requirements.php)) and some AMAZING programs in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc. You might be able to get what you want by combining classes offered at Mills with classes available through cross-registration. You can earn a BA or a BS degree in any of 5 science programs and you’ll be studying in one of the newest buildings on campus - the Natural Sciences Building was completed in 2007, and includes all-new chemistry and physics labs! I recommend checking it out in-person, and talking with faculty and students - they really will be your best resource!!

I called them and they said you could not earn a physics major through cross registration. It is very unfortunate, because women need the Mills environment I admire to support them in the physical sciences as well as biological. Pity.
