I live on the east coast, so I haven't gotten my results yet. I took Physics B in May, and knew immediately that I was going to be a borderline 4/5, but my suspicions are that it's unfortunately going to end up as a 4.

If this ends up being the case, from an admissions standpoint, if i take Physics C and get a 5 next year, does that end up counteracting the 4 here? Obviously, two 5's would be ideal, but would a 4 and a Physics C 5 next year look that much worse than two 5's or that much better than just a Physics B 4?

First order of business: there are two Physics C exams.

Second order of business: colleges generally don’t give a **** what you got on an AP exam in admissions unless:

1) you didn’t pass (i.e. 1/2)
2) it’s self-studied
3) there is a person with exactly the same profile as you except for an AP exam score (or scores); in that case, given a choice between you two, they would choose the one with higher score(s)

That being said, it does look a little better if you took both Physics B and C, but only because your schedule is more rigorous than if you only took Physics B.
