Physics B, I still have 3 big sections left to finish, which ones first/last?

I have 3 big sections to finish: Thermal, Optics, and Atomic and Nuclear Physics. Which ones should I study first/last? Do you think I'll be able to finish these in 2 weeks time? Should I start reviewing old chapters or just focus on the new ones?

i think your order should be: 1) thermal, 2) optics, 3) Atomic, 4) Nuclear ((in the order you gave above)) - this order was confirmed by my physics b teacher :)

I'm doing thermal right now and I can't understand much of it. It doesn't make sense to me. So.. should I review the mechanics and E/M or just study on?

look on the collegeboard rubric, thermodynamics is around 7% (or was it 15%), so you should base your decisions on that. personally, i would continue ... because kinematics doesnt take long to review

all I would add is to make sure you know Newtonian Physics, since it makes up the largest portion of the test.

They've started to ask fewer thermal questions.
I konw they havent really asked anything on heat of fusion/vaporization in a while. Just konw the gas laws well (1 equation really), know how to calculate work from the PV diagrams, dont get confused with work done/added to system, and know how to use the calculate Q U + W

Well I've taken released exams and I got:
2004- 10 wrong, 31 omit (taken a few weeks ago)
1998- 12 wrong, 19 omit on MC (taken a few weeks ago and taken today)

so assuming that I got half of my free response correct, what scores would I recieve? A 3? So yeah what should I do?

2004 - 2 or 3
1998 - 3 and if u do a lil better on fr 4

The topics you have left are among the easiest.

For thermal: know the laws of thermodynamics, expansion stuff, and specific heat stuff (Q=mcDt)

For optics: know your ray diagrams... I have seen quite a few FRQs with this

Nuclear stuff: know decay and fission/fusion

These should take you know more than a few hours.

Also, I would recommend omitting less/none. If you even know how to spell phsyics, it is more beneficial to make an EDUCATED guess. Just pick an answer that looks even close to reasonable.

Thanks for all your replies. So I'm still unsure if whether I should review more or study more or both. because I see that the exams require you to have good understanding of the material and not just memorize equations.

Princeton Review is the best review book to use for Physics B right? I'm studying Mirrors right now (On the mirror/magnification equation) and I think I've come across another typo on page 366. For example 16.12, shouldn't the answer to part d) be 2 cm instead of 6cm?

So far, I've come across a lot of typos in this book, even in the solutions they provide for the pratice tests! So, how can I make sure that I'm learning the correct information? Is there like a list of all of the typos found in the 2006-2007 ed of PR Physics B and C? Thanks.
