Physics B -> Physics C Mechanics

I'm in a Physics B class this year, and I'm going to take the Physics B exam, but I'm wondering...would it be hard to self-study for the Physics C Mechanics exam at the same time?

I'm taking Calculus AB right now, and I have a pretty good grasp of mechanics.

And I just noticed that the physics b and physics c mechanics exams are administered at the same time. Greeaaaaaatttt.

No not really, I was in your situation last year and took the late Physics c test, and ended up getting 5's on both studying only the week before the exam.
And I only studied 2 hours for Mechanics during that week, while devoting the rest to E&M.

If your Physics B class is like mine and went over angular momentum and rotational motion when they don't need to, then you only have to study a few specific topics like parallel axis theorem, center of mass, and setting up differential questions as that's basically the whole C curriculum right there

Yea, I'm going to have to take the late exam.

Should I buy a textbook for the C material, or would a prep book okay? I already have 5 steps to a 5.

A prep book (more like multiple prep books) along with some old questions, are more than enough. AP Advantage is another excellent prep book for this exam. I had the Physics for Scientists and Engineers by Serway, and I never looked at it the whole year. PM me if you would like some questions.
Are you thinking about doing E&M too?

No, not E&M. I wouldn't have enough time, and this is my first year taking physics. It would just be too much.

So AP Advantage is good enough for C Mechanics?

This one? <a href="http://www.amazon.com/AP-Advantage-Physics-C/dp/1413804926/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-5120599-2161430?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1191715513&sr=8-2%5B/url%5D">http://www.amazon.com/AP-Advantage-Physics-C/dp/1413804926/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-5120599-2161430?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1191715513&sr=8-2</a></p>

Yeah, that one
