we don't have a physics c class at my school, but someone who self-studied it last year loaned me a study book. is it worth the work to self-study c and get more credit than just sticking with b? i will likely be majoring in physics...

Go for C if you think you can do B..You will be receiving 2 seperate scores.
I did that last year and got better than I expected. (4 Mech,5 Elect)
A 5 and a 4 is better than only one 5(that is the B exam)

Derivatives, integrals, solids of revolutions, plane geometry, a lot with different momentums caused by weight distribution. It has calculus, but it is a lot of theory and a lot of knowledge. I agree, you can not just know Calc and Physics B, and do good on C.

It seems VERY implied, to me at least (even though you didn't say it). Don't plan on taking Physics C unless you plan on learning and expanding on new concepts.

Personally, I felt the difficulty of AP Physics C is exaggerated. But then, I've been more a physics person than anything else.

Is it worth it? Definitely. It's an amazing class; makes your head do gymnastics. I'm taking AP Bio now (took AP Phys last year), and I basically spend class solving physics problems anyway. Really makes you think, that class.

Work hard, don't be discouraged, you'll get 5s on both parts.

And Gkilla2005...nah. I found E&M harder, but the curve for that thing is nuts, making the test pretty easy still. Have faith; you'll do fine.
