Physics C?

Have any of yall taken the AP Physics C exam? Is it hard? im so terrified! Is anyone else taking it Monday? (Misery loves company!)

I'm taking it Monday...I can't wait until it's over!

inductance is evil...between that and rotational, i am terrified

yea i'm reading barrons and just found out it's written by the physics prof. at brown... gd luck everyone!

I also hate inductance! And rotation kinematics, but not as much. And to a lesser degree, I dislike magnetism. Too many directions to figure out by the Right Hand Rule.

I am taking C, but only mechanics. My school doesnt offer it as a course and it's a bit to much to learn the whole thing with just 25 mins a week of instruction.

Anyway, it turns out the test doesnt matter for me since Brown will take the 5 I got on B last year the same as a 4 or 5 on C this year.

Rotational used to drive me nuts, and is still a bit of a *****, but far easier if you just remember it's the same as linear with analogous properties: I is like m, a is like alpha, v is like omega, etc etc. That'll get you through 2/3s of any question.

I am trying to do this...atrocity...with a conducting bar sliding down a ramp, huh? gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I took the physics C AP (both exams). The E&M is basically impossible, especially the free response. Don't worry, you only need ~40-50% to get a 5 on the E&M. The mechanics part wasn't bad (I got a 5), but I knew mechanics really well. I seriously thought I had failed the E&M, but I ended up getting a 4. My recommendation is to do as many practice problems as possible.

Regarding the AP placement, technically, it's the same for B and C. However, the physics department knows that the C is a much more rigorous exam. They give different recommendations for physics placement based on the exam you took and how well you did. For example, I'm skipping physics 5 (calculus based physics for physical science majors - I'm a biophysics concentrator), but the department doesn't let you skip pycsics 5 with the B exam.

Hope that helps

anyone take it today...mech fr were insane!

Glad I am not the only one who thought the Mechanics FR sucked donkey nuts.

many people did...that mech 2 was either insanely easy or hard, depending on whether you got that quirk...but yeah, hard to gauge exactly how i did...

Mechanics mc was haard tooo. i skipped so many problems just b/c i didn't have enough time to finish them. Actually, I was surprised to find E&M easier than Mechanics. I usually did SOOOO bad on E&M (got like 20 wrong on each of practice test i've taken LOL), but this time, i could actually do SOME of the problems

yea, djl, people usually almost invariably do better on mech, but it seemed that the usual imbalance in difficulty was shifted a little (or a lot)

Ugh! That whole test was sooo impossible! I never want to see physics again in my life (well, at least not until college).

Yeah I ran out of time on the MC for mechanics too. Skipped five problems as i was going through that were taking to long and time ended before I got to the last two questions and never got to go bcak. 7 of 35 is bad. But the other 28 I'm fairly confident in which would still put me in a good place. Then I got hurt pretty bad on the part II so forget it. I also had tonsilitis and the bio exam in the morning so I was pretty wiped.
