Im in regular physics this year, and plan to take ap phys C. I've decided that if i am to do this, I will use march to august of this year to go to a tutoring center and learn the prerequisite material/possibly C material ahead of time. Should I take the class? I really want to learn about Electricity & Magnetism, and i dont like bio.

Physics C Electricity & Magnetism is a pretty hard course, quite a bit harder than Physics C Mechanics. Both Physics C classes require extensive use of calculus. Are you a strong A student in calculus? If not, you’ll effectively be struggling with two classes, both of which challenge many students.

The prerequisite (or at least corequisite) is calculus. Many colleges list calculus 1 (~= calculus AB) as the prerequisite to the physics course with mechanics.

In college physics courses, electricity and magnetism is often taught with multivariable calculus and/or differential equations listed as at least a corequisite.

i’m currently in AP calculus right now. i dont know which one im taking, or which one my school offers.

The thing with me in Calculus is that im prone to silly mistakes. My teacher makes the tests hard to the point where 90%+ f her students get 5s on the exam

sorry i meant to say. im in BC calc. idk which PHYSICS C class my school offers

High schools which offer only one part of the AP Physics C course are likely to offer just mechanics, as it is usually taken before electricity and magnetism whether in high school or college.

My high school only offers Physics B, but many people take both of the Physics C tests as well. My friends who have taken it have said that it is not really that hard, and they only needed two weeks to understand the extra material. The calc on C is very basic and really its just formulas you plug numbers into.
