Physics Course for Summer Semester

I'm looking over classes to take for the summer and physics happened to be one among them. Only because the teacher who is teaching it got awesome reviews making me want to take the chance in taking a class with him. The problem is there were no reviews on how the class is for the summer. Would it be a good idea for someone to take a physics course over the 6 week period?

This depends on a lot of things. For instance:

What’s your major? Is this an intro physics class? How much physics would you have to take? Do you have past experience in physics?

Would it affect your overall plan for being on track to finish in time? What about the professors who are teaching the class in the fall? Do they have good reviews or really horrible reviews? What’s the reason for taking physics over the summer? Just because you have to take something over the summer and it might as well be physics?

For what it’s worth, a good professor can do wonders, even over a shorter amount of time. If you’re in a major that really depends on a solid grasp of physics, though, it might be better to take the class during the year during the normal sequence.

My major is currently Biomedical Sciences, I’m changing to Biology though. In respects to both majors, I need two physics courses.

I don’t have past experience so I don’t know what to expect. The physics class I want to take for summer is at a different college than where I am attending in the fall. I won’t know the teachers in fall until close to the start date with classes, at least now at a school I’m already familiar with I will be.

I don’t necessarily have to take physics, I need a language also for my future school so I am planning on taking Spanish, but I really don’t want to. I’m participating in a program that requires for me to take at least one class. Being that Spanish and Physics are the only classes I could take over the summer due to limited choices, I’d rather take physics but I don’t know how the class will be. If it’s too difficult then I’ll definitely reconsider.

In that case, I’d say take whichever class you’d like to take. If you’d prefer to take physics over Spanish, then just take physics. It’s hard to say how difficult it will be because it depends on you and your school. With all classes over the summer, if you stay on top of the work and ask for help if you need it, then it should be fine. As a biology major, physics won’t be a huge part of your later classes so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue, unless you are planning on applying to medical school or another professional school and this is required as a prerequisite.
