Hi, a more common combination would be Math + EECS, but I just want to ask is there anyone who is currently double majoring in Physics + EECS, is it even sensible to do such a thing, or should I go back to Math + EECS?

Any other good recommendations for EECS double majors are also welcomed, thank you.

Wait…they’re in different colleges. Doesn’t that require you to fulfill the requirements of both L&S and CoE?

yup - but the humanities from L&S covers CoE, and AP tests count for CoE I believe. When I did the dars thing for EECS it counted AP micro + econ c175 as the two course humanities requirement. There really aren’t any “requirements” apart from those and the courses you need for your major. HOWEVER, AP lit counts for only one semester of R&C with CoE as opposed to all of your R&C with L&S, so there’s that.

L&S does have a biological science breadth requirement (one of the 7-course breadth requirements) that may require an extra course to fulfill if an EECS major wants to do simultaneous degrees with an L&S major. Note also that the College of Engineering requires at least two upper division H/SS courses, at least of which must be linked to another H/SS course (lower or upper division or AP credit), while L&S allows all breadths to be lower division.

It may be less hassle to just take the interesting math or physics courses (picking up a minor if it is convenient) without having to worry about fitting all of the L&S requirements in.
