can someone help me with these problems? thanks

a hypodermic syringe contains water. the barrel of the syringe has a cross sectional area of 2.5x10^-5 m^2 and the needle has a cross sectional area of 1x10^-8 m^2. In the absence of a force on the blunger, the pressure everywhere is 1.00 atm. a force of magnitude 2N is exerted on the plunger, causing the water to squirt horizontally from the needle. find the speed of teh water as it leaves the tip of the needle.

I used Bernoulli’s equation for this one and assumed the initial velocity is 0 and delta p is F/first cross sectional area…I dont know if thats right

A long cylinder of radius r is weighted on one end so that it floats upright in a fluid having a density p. It is pushed downward a distance x from equilibrium and released. Show that the tube will execute simple harmonic motion if the resistive effects of the fluid are neglected, and determine the period of the oscillations.

Thanks!
