PHYSICS makeup during the summer for the UC... (-_-)

Hi. (this is regarding admissions to on of the UC colleges, fall 2010 as a freshmen)

I'm making up physics (well, it's AP Physics, but what the hell... I got D's both semesters) via taking a class at my local community college. VERY UNFORTUNATELY, a waitlist already started even days before the concurrently enrolled K-12 students had a chance to start their registration. I was waitlisted.... and now I found out (after a long, painful discussion with the dean of students) that I won't be able to get credit for my physics if no one else (that is registered) drops out. And, I'm next on the waiting list.

Which puts me in a little predicament, since all the other community colleges in CA either have already started their terms, or do not have online courses, for GAS $$$ is a problem.)

I'm trying to get into a UC. ANY UC. (not UCM). I'm just wondering, is it MUCH better to complete make up a physics course during the summer, then have a grade to show for it when it comes time to turn in your UC applications? or is it adequate to just retake Physics during the school year, despite the fact the UC's won't be able to receive a grade (and thus, gauge me on physics-makeup) when it comes time to turn in the UC application at November? (I've contacted all the UC's that have email about my predicament.... I'm not too sure f they want the physics made up DURING this summer, as i will be a senior for the fall, or whether just simply re-taking physics during the school year is fine.)

Thank you for ANY help. If you need more info (i'm not requiring you to chance, but I don't know if i gave a lack-of-info: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/726718-curious-chances-least-uc-irvine.html)

LEMON

It’s my understanding that, if you retake the SAME CLASS, at the SAME SCHOOL to replace a D or F grade, the UCs will count ONLY your (presumably higher) grade in the retaken class in computing your UC GPA. If you take a course in the same subject at a different school (even if it’s a community college), the grade you receive in that class will still count toward your UC GPA (since summer classes after junior year are treated as junior-year courses) - but so will those Ds.

Please don’t take my - or anyone else on CC’s - word for this - contact a counselor ASAP.

^ thank you VERY MUCH for the info. pamavision.

Any other feedback? (btw, i did get in the summer physics class-BARELY.)

LEMON

great. nobody else likes to help this lemon.

thread closed. I got in the class by narrowest margins, anyways.

thank you pamavision.
