I know i want to become a physicist or mechanical/aerospace engineer and right now I am leaning toward physics, so i was just wondering how hard it would be to switch back to engineering (for grad school) if i decide after i get a BS in physics that i actually dont want to be a physicist and prefer to go into engineering.

It would be much easier to switch back to engineering than to switch to physics for grad school.

Ditto. Physics is more theoretical, and idea based. Engineering is all applied math and concepts. You will have all the skills necassary in math to proceed into engineering.

If you really can't decide: major in Physics and take a bunch of mechanical engineering classes. Contact a bunch of mechanical engineering programs and ask them what courses would they want to see an undergrad take that is not majoring in meche. They'll give you some courses (4-5 I imagine) that they'll want you to take in your school's meche dept.

you may want to look into an engineering physics program... the best of both worlds.
